Apache was dumped at a Maryland shelter by his "family." They said they were "tired of him." That clearly wasn't all. Signs of neglect were evident. Apache was painfully thin, and he was loaded with mats. The odor that emanated from him was beyond description. I was amazed that he hadn't been found on the streets, that he had actually been in someone's "care."
Through all that filth and stench, there was a little heart of gold and a beautiful little boy. Apache cleaned up just fine, and when his hair grows back, it will be gorgeous. If only more people could see past how many dogs look while in shelters, more could get adopted from them. It seems like such a simple thing, but too many people just don't get it.
Someone from Virginia met Apache at one of our adoption shows, and it was all over for her. Love won the day, and now Apache will have the life he always deserved.
