Abby is her same "fiesty" little self. Such a cutey. She takes eyedrops in her one good eye to hopefully delay any glaucoma in it. She has a cateract in the back of the eye which can't be operated on because of her predisposition to gloucoma. She is a barrel of laughs. Other than her eye her health is fine.
Abby is an adorable seven-year-old parti-colored American Cocker Spaniel with red and white markings. Abby?s family told us they could no longer care for her, which seems to be quite the understatement. Thank goodness we were called to help Abby. She came to us with severe Glaucoma in one eye, and it had been unattended since 2003! Poor Abby had to be suffering the entire time because Glaucoma is extremely painful. By the time Abby came to us, there was nothing we could do to save her eye. She could not see from it, and it had to be removed to relieve the pressure and pain. She also had a much needed dental because her poor mouth was badly infected.
I am pleased to report that Abby recovered beautifully from both procedures, but the outcome could have been tragic. She is now more than ready for her forever home. This darling girl did not deserve such neglect. Little Abby is achingly sweet. How she suffered silently for so long still amazes all of us. Abby is an angel who will steal your heart in no time if you give her even half a chance.
Abby is completely housebroken; she rides beautifully in a car and walks well on a leash. She loves to cuddle up and sleep in bed with a person, but she will curl up in a doggie bed, too. More than anything, she loves to be by your side and will follow you anywhere. She asks for so little, it is heartbreaking. We want to give her so much more than she is used to having. Abby gets along well with everyone; she likes other dogs, and cats, too. What more could anyone want from a furry companion? We know there is a special someone for Abby. She will return your love in full measure. Please open your hearts to her.
